Friends of Bret Harte Elementary seeks to support the Bret Harte Elementary community through fundraising and volunteering. By enlisting and organizing community support, we hope to ensure that all staff, parents, and students receive the resources that they need to thrive.
We believe that public schools play an essential role in child's growth as well as in community building. That is why we devote ourselves to the equitable funding for our neighborhood school.

OUR SCHOOL
Bret Harte Elementary School is nestled within the Hyde Park community. Bret Harte offers a variety of extracurricular and enrichment programs for students throughout the school day and after school. Technology is integrated in every classroom as a supplement to the curriculum. Various partnerships have been established through the University of Chicago and other community organizations to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience.
